Abstract:

The talk will provide an overview of the cutting-edge research and development of human centric security and discuss on several Data61 | CSIRO projects.

Brief Biography:

Marthie Grobler is passionate about making cybersecurity more accessible. Her research focus is on human centric cyber security, enhancing usability of security solutions by considering human factors. She spearheaded the establishment of a new human centric security research team in CSIRO, which is focused on addressing the alignment and integration of human factors in the cyber domain to enhance security adoption and efficiency. Her expertise falls within a very niche area of cyber security, the intersection between cyber security, usable security and human computer interaction.

Marthie has a strong focus on improving cyber security across user groups, considering traditional usability metrics, governance and policies, as well as cyber security maturity and resilience. Her main developments are in the domains of cyber risk and governance, and cyber education and digital upskilling. She obtained her PhD in Computer Science (specialising in Digital Forensic Governance) at the University Johannesburg, South Africa and served several years as Professor of Practice at the University Johannesburg’s Faculty of Science. She is an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

Abstract:

Dr. Srikanth Prabhu received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He is currently working as a Senior Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology since last 22 years.

Best Project Award: Has got the best project award for M.tech project entitled, ‘Face Recognition System for Criminal Identification using Distributed Computed ‘at IIT, Kharagpur. Best Authoritarian Paper Award: Got the Best Authoritarian Award, from FTMS, Malaysia. Interdisciplinary Projects Experience: IBM Rational, Samsung PRISM, HPE, Novartis, Cerner Healthcare. Corporate trainer: Honeywell, Intel, Infineon, Delphi, through Manipal Universal Learning ( Currently Manipal Global ) Consultancy Projects Experience: (Coal Net ( Coal India Limited ), OLIMMS( NLC, Chennai ), ERP( IIT, Kharagpur) ), during my M.tech and Ph.d days. Organization of Funded Workshops/ Conferences: Organized, CSIR, DRDO, IBHM, Infosys, AICTE funded workshop/ conference, in coordination with Department of Mathematics, in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019, titled Computer Applications using Modern Algebra. Current Consultancy Project: ‘Facial Analysis’ Cyber Forensic Software development with Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, KMC Manipal in coordination with SIFS, New Delhi, ready for Funding. Leadership Role: Has been part of Synergic Manipal Integrated Leadership Engagement Program ( SMILE, 2016-2018 )
